Martha Jefferson Reproductive Technology Lab Staff

Dr. Ted Thomas is the Lab Director for the Martha Jefferson Reproductive Technology Lab. Dr. Thomas is a native of Pennsylvania. His educational pathway included degree programs at Lafayette College (B.A.), the University of Vermont (M.S.), the University of Virginia (Ph.D.), and concluded with a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Connecticut. He joined Dr. Bateman in founding the In Vitro Fertilization Program at the University of Virginia in 1986 where he worked until 2005. He is certified as a High Complexity Laboratory Director (HCLD) by the American Board of Bioanalysis with specialization in embryology. Dr. Thomas is a reproductive laboratory inspector for the College of American Pathologists and has served in that role since 1992. He is married and has two daughters.

Devi Das is originally from Kerala in Southern India and she earned a Bachelor degree in Medicine from the University of Bangalore in 1999. Devi completed her Masters in Clinical Embryology at the Monash Institute of Reproduction & Development in Melbourne, Australia in 2002 and began her laboratory career in clinical embryology at the South West Centre for Reproductive Medicine in Plymouth, UK.  Devi joined the assisted reproduction program at the University of Virginia in 2004 before transitioning to Martha Jefferson Hospital in 2005. She enjoys traveling and cooking and resides in Charlottesville with her husband.

Shelly Glover, RN is a Virginia native. She graduated from Piedmont Virginia Community College School of Nursing after completing her first year of nursing studies at Louise Obici School of Nursing in Suffolk, VA. She practiced Emergency Medicine for 17 years and specialized in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, Trauma, and Cardiac Emergency Medicine as well as working as a Poison Control Specialist for the University of Virginia. Upon leaving the Emergency Medicine field she has practiced in Pediatric Medicine, Student Health and Environmental Health and Outpatient Surgery. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at Mary Baldwin College and hopes to obtain her master’s degree as a Physician’s Assistant from Eastern VA Medical School in the near future. She is active in her church and plays piano and enjoys music, arts, theater, running, cooking, tennis and riding horses. She lives on her farm in Staunton with her dog and three horses.

Jessica Rebert was born and raised in Long Island, New York.  Her travels took her to Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Small Animal Science from Delaware Valley College, and to Phoenix, AZ where she began her reproductive laboratory career at the Mayo Clinic in 2001.  Jessica joined the Assisted Reproduction Program at the University of Virginia in 2002 and made the transition with Drs. Bateman, Williams and Thomas to Martha Jefferson Hospital in 2005.  Jessica and her husband are the proud parents of two children.

 

Vicki Richardson is the Office Specialist Assistant II at the Martha Jefferson Reproductive Technology Lab and has been with them since January 2006.  She has lived in Charlottesville for 27 years.  Vicki's goal is to give outstanding, sincere, customer care to all she encounters.  She loves helping people.  Over the last nine years, Vicki has spent her time off serving others in many countries as well as in the United States.  Her other passions are spending time with family and loved ones, reading and the great outdoors.
